⏰ Check-In & Out

  • Check-in at 3:00 PM via keypad
  • Lake access on check-in day from 12:00 noon
  • Check-out strictly 11:00 AM
  • Late checkout = additional night

👥 Occupancy

  • Maximum 8 guests
  • No parties or events
  • Only agreed-upon guests permitted
  • Extra guests: $100/person/night

🐕 Pets

  • Up to 2 dogs, under 50 lbs
  • $250 refundable pet deposit
  • Dogs must be leashed outdoors
  • Wildlife area: coyotes, bears, eagles can be hazardous to pets

🌊 On the Water

  • Life jackets required (CT law)
  • Water shoes recommended
  • No nude swimming
  • Owners motorized watercraft access prohibited

🚭 Smoking

We encourage guests to slow down, unplug, and spend time outdoors — whether that's a quiet morning kayak, reading on the dock, or watching eagles at dusk.
Yes. Bashan Lake is one of Connecticut's cleanest lakes with a sandy, shallow entry (first 15 ft) that's ideal for kids. The sandbar area is perfect for little ones. Life jackets are required by CT state law and provided for all ages. Water shoes are recommended due to natural lake bottom.
Power boating is allowed on Bashan Lake — there's a public launch at the other end. Note: guests do not have access to any motorized watercraft on the property. All non-motorized water toys (kayaks, paddleboards, canoe, floats) are included in your stay.
Absolutely. Up to 2 well-behaved dogs under 60 lbs are welcome with a $250 pet deposit. Dogs must be leashed outdoors — we're in active wildlife territory with eagles, hawks, coyotes, and bears. Dogs cannot be left alone on the property at any time.
Fiber WiFi is available (login on fridge) for those who need to stay connected. But we'll tell you from experience: the lake has a way of making you forget your phone. You have the choice — and many guests tell us it's the best digital detox they've had.
Check-in is at 3:00 PM via keypad (code provided before arrival). You're welcome to access the lake from 12 noon, but luggage stays in your car until 3 PM. Check-out is strictly 11:00 AM — the lock code expires automatically. Late checkout results in an additional night charge.
Yes — the owners live in a separate structure on the property and are available by cell phone between 9 AM and 7 PM. They're warm, responsive hosts who want your stay to be exceptional. There are outdoor security cameras on the property; no cameras inside the home.
